ABOUT OUR STUDIO

Kansas City Urban Strings began in 2010 as an after school program at a public charter school in Kansas City. The program eventually grew out of the school and moved to our present location at the Country Club United Methodist Church in the Brookside neighborhood. We now serve students from eight Kansas City schools and half a dozen adults.

Our mission is to bring music lessons to everyone regardless of ability to pay. We offer financial aid and affordable group lessons. We think music is really fun to play and we want to share that pleasure with our city.
